Q & A
Q: How and how much does it cost to get my criminal history expunged: I was convicted in 2009 for 4th class possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, and driving on a suspend license.
Asked 4 months ago in Expungement
A: Emily’s answer: Check out my legal guide https://www.avvo.com/legal-guides/ugc/clearing-.... It appears you are eligible if you had one judgment and sentence for possession of marijuana, paraphernalia and DWLS 3. The appropriate amount of time has passed to make you eligible for vacating. Whichever attorney you hire will need to pull your court records to be sure. Good luck!
Q: What are the legal implications of false allegations? : I received a deeply threatening lawyer's letter saying that I cyber stalked /harassed a few of my former co-workers. The lawyers said in the letter that their clients did extensive cyber private investigations and aware that it was me who anonymously harassed their clients on social media and demand that I immediately stop harassing them or they will take further legal actions. I have never read such a load of crap and lies. I cant actually believe this. At no time have I stalked /harassed my co-workers. I have not kept contact with anyone of them since I left the job. More to the story, I personally have received a few abusive anonymous facebook messages since I left the job but I have no proof who sent it. I reported them to facebook and ignored them but never started any conversation with the anonymous facebook abuser. I kept all the messages. I have emailed the lawyer immediately and denied the allegations but have not heard back since. It has been 6 weeks since I replied the letter. What next? still feel very angry. Do I have a case suing them for the false accusations?

A: Emily’s answer: Are you asking about your own criminal liability? If so, they could report you to police and accuse you of harassment. However, it seems to me that this was just a threatening letter from a lawyer trying to get you to stop some alleged harassment, and won't actually lead to criminal charges. I understand you're angry, but suing your former employees is not likely to go anywhere unless you can show actual damages and have proof that they were behind the facebook messages and/or made up the allegations.
